92nd Birthday Party

My dear, sweet Auntie had her birthday on Tuesday!!
Can you imagine being 92?
She handles her age with grace and acceptance.

We enjoyed a nice meal together and then some cupcakes.

It was so nice of her to tell me what a wonderful thing it was for us to put on such a nice party for her, after she was resting in her bed after the party was done.

I love her.
It is her day!! We enjoyed a little party for her.
Lake Tai food and cupcakes provided by Loretta.

All of us at the party, but Loretta is taking the photo this time.

Mother's Day 2012

Bryn, Don and Grampa surprised my mum and me with a lovely picnic.
We used to go on picnics a lot.
We went to Hardy Falls on the way to Penticton, or to Bear Creek Park, to a quiet little park off of Sutherland or on the boat on Kal Lake.
Then the house got quieter and everyone was off to work or school or married and living far away.
It is easier to stay home and eat a hot bowl of soup or a freshly made salad, but....
on Sunday, it was so nice to not know what was up or where we were going.
I am so glad my family knows me well and so it was nothing embarrassing or difficult.
We hopped in the truck, went to my parents house to pick them up, and then off to Springfield Park not very far away at all.
Since the tables all had people eating at them or sitting at them or sported "Reserved" signs on them, Don got out the picnic table Auntie Beth used to have and set it up in the middle of the shade of a big tree in a spot of our own.
Dad and Don put the chairs for us to sit on in the shade or sun - which ever spot people would enjoy more.
Then Don and Bryn put the meal together quickly and neatly and soon we had our special meal.

Many others had the same idea as the park was full of good natured people, all accompanied with a mother or two.

Some sat on home-made "picnic" quilts (I was told). Some brought flowers along with the food.
Gifts were seen sitting on the grass beside picnic baskets.
One brother and sister were throwing and catching a football.
Another little girl and her sister were enjoying McDonalds food tucked under a big yellow and blue umbrella.

We sat and ate and chatted and felt the warm breeze in our faces.

What a lovely time.

Thank you very much.
Love you my family.

Wondering where we are going?

Family Fotos for Fun

I just love my family so much.
Hope they do not mind if I share some fun photos with you all.
They are a good bunch and put up with my camera and me.

Yesterday Mum visited Auntie Beth at Cottonwoods until I came from the rehab pool.
They are such fun to talk to when I come to pick up mum.
So thankful I have this opportunity to hear stories and share bits of their day.

How can you not respond to a smile like that!!
Love this sweet photo of my mum and my granddaughter
Such fun people to be around

Bible Verse for January 26th, 2012

Week 2

My Bible verse for week 2 was on that was underlined in my old Bible.
It is 2 Corinthians 9:15 - "Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift."
When I repeat that out loud it causes me to tear up.

His gift is why I live. His gift is for ME and for YOU.
I need to say this verse over each and every day.

It was Ali's birthday on the 25th - she is a GIFT in my life too. Here are a few pictures of her.

Ali's makes a registry

Ali and I went to make her bridal registry at Home Outfitters last Thursday. It was a fun and easy time, walking around the store and scanning items in their computer system for giving gift ideas to guests. Ali got a free cookbook and a folder of things to help with her wedding planning.

After we just drove across the parking lot to Taco Del Mar and had a small burrito for me and two tacos for her
What a nice mum and daughter time!

L'il Punkin...

My little granddaughter, Coral, and I went out in her back yard in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee last month and had a wonderful time together. She was so very cute in this little pumpkin hat...

Kiara & Kason

We had such fun company come to visit in August. Kiara, Kason and their parents, Rick and Melody, came for a weekend visit, along with their cousin Kayla and some other family members. What fun it was! Kiara and Kason were happy children and are little water people for sure. Both children were delighted to go boating and tubing on Woods Lake. Kason fell into the water and was immediately rescued, but two minutes later, if that, he was begging to be let back into the waves. Kiara enjoyed the tubing time with her cousins, but was glad she learned the tumbs up sign for going faster! Just check out these happy little faces...

Solitude for journaling

What a wonderful spot to be alone to write your thoughts. We were in Ear Falls for my niece's graduation this spring and it was just beautiful in this area. My daughter relaxed on the dock at the cabin we stayed at one afternoon and did some journaling.
