And one more...

Today I went to see my PT.
As we were talking I mentioned that I made a green shake and did not enjoy the kale in it too much.
He happily told me how he makes his green drink and brought out his cup to show me.

I tried to recreate it at home this evening and hope I got it all. I think I added a few more fruits then he did.

Spinach smoothie:
that is all -  raspberries, blueberries, a kiwi, strawberries, spinach ( cooked in the micro wave for about two minutes to get something, I do not remember what, to come out of it) and a banana ( it was supposed to be frozen but I did not give it enough time in the freezer and it would have been better frozen)
another view to make sure you see all the good stuff
the fun part for me
the pretty is all gone but the taste is there
his and hers
thanks to Don for taking this of me enjoying for you to see
we drank it up
and it was good
way better then kale

Another fun food creation

Pinterest is all the fun it seems like now.
Well, not all, but a lot of people are on board.
This was one of the items I pinned on there.

Thought I would make it as it is so easy and fun.
I love raspberries too.

Try it yourself and see what you think.

raspberries, white chipits and milk chocolate chipits
fill each raspberry with a little bit of chocolate or a marshmallow
simple and tasty...  surely not too bad of a treat

Bible Verse for February 23rd, 2012

Week 6

It is the day to choose my new Bible text to memorize.

Since I have been in the kitchen a lot of this afternoon making interesting creations, I decided on a verse to go along with that.

Psalms 34:8 says:
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good:  blessed is the man (woman) that trusteth in Him. "

I knew how to repeat the first part of this verse but faltered on the second part.
It is a good verse to think on often in the coming days.

My first creation today was Cauliflower Soup.
So easy and so tasty.
I made it for my friend, Jackie and her family.

most of the ingredients... just add the garlic
boil it together for about 20 minutes with some salt and chicken style seasoning to your taste
the green pot helps to make it taste even better
after blended and added back to the pot
ready to consume
add some fresh home made bread my friend gave me... and enjoy

February 17th - A Friday

Today I wanted to try a few new recipes.
We are trying to get healthier and are game for new ideas.

Mum asked me to buy them two lemons yesterday.   They were for adding to a morning glass of water.  Today I read about how good it was for our bodies to have this kind of lemon water first thing in the morning.
Since I had all the ingredients on hand - water from the tap and a lemon from the fridge - it was quite easy to make.

It was so refreshing I think I will try it again tomorrow.

One recipes I saw and wanted to try was easy. It was for Cauliflower Soup. 0 points.
The simple recipe was to boil together a head of cauliflower, diced onions, sliced carrots, garlic cloves, with a few seasonings. (Hope I did not forget one or two things.)
Then scoop out the veggies and put in a blender and blend well.
Add back into the broth and add a small amount (two T) of fat-free evaporated milk.
It was delicious and I am wanting to make more.

The next recipe was for a green drink.
Since I do not have a juicer as yet, I used my trusty Bosch blender.
Into the blender I put half a lemon, skin and all, two apples, ice, two stalks of celery, and cucumber... all was still good and the tiny bit that flew out of the blender onto the surface beside me tasted great.
Then I added the last ingredient and it was not so great any more to my taste buds. Kale.

Don drank his glassful all down and seemed to enjoy it.
I drank some and stopped.
I drank some more and added the second apple. I tried it again.
Hmmmm, I think I would rather eat my veggies in a soup - nice and hot.

Day 27 - Lunch

Lunch.
That is today's challenge.
I was really hungry and I was also doing another self imposed challenge today.
I did not want to go out in the car for anything.
Getting all the food made for our guests tomorrow would have to be made from items we had on hand.

Guess what?  I did it.
Lunch was nice and easy since I had one boiled egg in the fridge, lettuce, tomato, cucumber slices, onion and pickle.   The Silver Hills bread I really enjoy eating was waiting for me in the fridge.

So here is my photo of my lunch today.

It might make you hungry!!

So you can see inside - It is nice and crunchy and full of good flavour
Ready to enjoy
