Day 29 - Inside Your Fridge

I thought I might not want to do this one, but today it does not look too bad, eh?

Left-overs from Sabbath, Silver Hills bread, juice, tomatoes and lettuce in the drawer with other veggies, apples and oranges in the other drawer, well, you can see for yourself I am sure.

Want to come for lunch sometime?

Here it is

January 30, 2012 - Beach

After visiting Auntie Beth at Cottonwoods mum and I stopped at the beach for awhile.
What interesting things there are to see if you just take the time.

Flying over Cottonwoods
No one to sit and relax out here today
Colours
Whipped-up waves make icicles
I thought it was a warm day until I saw this

Day 27 - Lunch

Lunch.
That is today's challenge.
I was really hungry and I was also doing another self imposed challenge today.
I did not want to go out in the car for anything.
Getting all the food made for our guests tomorrow would have to be made from items we had on hand.

Guess what?  I did it.
Lunch was nice and easy since I had one boiled egg in the fridge, lettuce, tomato, cucumber slices, onion and pickle.   The Silver Hills bread I really enjoy eating was waiting for me in the fridge.

So here is my photo of my lunch today.

It might make you hungry!!

So you can see inside - It is nice and crunchy and full of good flavour
Ready to enjoy

Day 26 - Colour

Colour!!
I love it.
It is everywhere.
Today I did not read the challenge word until this evening.
Glad I took these photos because they were so bright and cheery.

Is there enough colour?

*Please do not copy any photos from this blog site. Thank you.*

Bible Verse for January 26th, 2012

Week 2

My Bible verse for week 2 was on that was underlined in my old Bible.
It is 2 Corinthians 9:15 - "Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift."
When I repeat that out loud it causes me to tear up.

His gift is why I live. His gift is for ME and for YOU.
I need to say this verse over each and every day.

It was Ali's birthday on the 25th - she is a GIFT in my life too. Here are a few pictures of her.

First birthday and she is afraid of her candle
Ali, Rebecca and Bryn ready for Christmas
Ali in her bedroom with little sister, Bryn, and baby brother, Tyler
Ali teaching Daddy to play violin
Yes,  I tried to keep up but got left behind

My day

Some days are different then you planned the night before. Today I got a phone call and zipped over to a near by dentist in a few minutes and was there till about noon. It is so nice to have my broken-off tooth repaired. I appreciated this office getting me in.

I barely made it home and had a little soup before it was time to take off for my exercise class. It is so good to go to it after a weekend off. There were two new ladies in the group and the instructors made the session fun with a few new drills.

Since I was part way to the lake already, I took a few more minutes and went to Kinsmen Park at the beach and took a few photos for my photo challenge. The lake was frozen at the edges in this park and with the sun shining down on the ice, snow and water, it made for some pretty scenes.

Next it was time to hurry back home and change, then go to my folks place and pick them up to go for a late lunch date with them to celebrate a special day for them. We went to Lake Tai. It has been closed for several months as the place they used to have was taken down for building a big new complex. The new place is closer and the food was still really tasty. It is all vegetarian, Taiwanese food. Excellent!

Back home for a short while and had a little time to try to chat with Don before I went to our small group Bible study group and he went to a school board meeting.

At the end of our meetings we watched the new DVD out - Courageous. It was a though-provoking
movie to watch.

Just a little time to update my blog and talk to some of the family and then time for a good rest.

Day 23 - Something old

I was excited to take photos for this challenge day. Something old could be so many different things.
I decided on an old toy that my mum just gave me. It is a pull-along rabbit that has wooden wheels and a wooden body, with working metal parts. The paint is the original.

I found this tree with a nice bunny hollow right in it. Perfect!

Right at home

Day 22 - Your shoes

Here are my shoes. I love the colour of them. They are nicely broken in now and very comfortable. I use them mostly for my exercise class in the gym.

This picture went on right side up... the others went sideways

Day 20 - Someone you love

Someone I love - that can be hundreds of people. OK, maybe not hundreds, but many family members, friends and my Father in Heaven. Last month I took pictures of these lovely ladies.

Since I had to take another photo of someone I love this month, it was not a hard choice at all in the end.
Don was happy to have his picture taken once again and have his new soft warm blanket in there with him.

Bible Verse for January 19th, 2012

Week 1

Since I am not really doing any photo challenge right now, I decided to put my memory verses on here and try to add a photo to illustrate them on this site.

I did well for the first three or four weeks and then went away and now I need to catch up. I am putting the verses on a card ring file and that will be very helpful for going through the verses any time I need to review.

Week #1 - January 19th, 2012

Proverbs 15:1
"A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

Bible verse challenge & Tooth

Today I would like to add to my photo blog. I will try to add more things then just photos each day. Someone on a blog I just started to read had the suggestion to join her in 52 Verses in 52 Weeks. It is picking a Bible verse to memorize each week. One verse a week for the year 2012.

Week 1 (January 19th) - Proverbs 15:1
"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

I know this verse quite well already, but it popped out at me when I looked in my old Bible. This verse is a good one for me to say many times a day for a week, don't you think?

Last evening my tooth cracked and a large piece came out of my mouth. I was scheduled to go to the dentist to have a piece added on in the attempt to save it. I am sad that I will probably lose this tooth now. That will make three of them needing to be replaced with an implant. Not looking forward to the extraction of this bitty piece left in my gum or the implants I know I have to get one day.

The second broken piece of tooth - the part from last evening
