On Sunday there was a snow carving competition with judging at 11 a.m. as part of Vernon's Winter Carnival. It was so foggy in Kelowna and all along the way. We stopped to take pictures as Kalamalka's emerald waters looked so pretty against the white of the hoar frost on the trees and bushes.
Some of the day in photos. (Please do not take photos with out asking first. Thank you.)
Such beauty right close to where we live! |

Wonderful snowflake |
I really like this bear. It reminds me of the eagles all around Vancouver for the Olympics. And then the moon is just an added bonus! |
We got to see the most beautiful sight when we drove down the mountain. The colourful sunset over a lake of fog clouds on top of the city. |
LOVE your photos! I grew up in MI, and miss the snow--though I admit that I do not miss driving in snow and ice! Thanks for sharing the beauty around where you are! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the note about the photos.
DeleteDid you have any snow at all this winter?
We actually have had quite a mild winter here but we do need the moisture the snow gives if we do not want fires in the summer time.
Thanks for looking and for the note.
Can you say HOMESICK! That's what your pictures made me! Such beautiful pics Glenda and they made me really miss my old days of season's passes and skiing up at the Star! Love all of the sculptures and that bear with the moon in the background is just amazing! Thanks for sharing! xo
ReplyDeletesorry to make you homesick, but happy you enjoyed seeing the pictures.
Deleteit was a fun time and the weather was so nice up there. just a bit up the hill and it was 4 degrees warmer then in Vernon.
Great pictures, every one! I also like the bear, but I thought of those painted bears that were at the Rotary Centre for the Arts downtown for awhile. Stunning sunset again and loved all the scenery and ice sculpture pictures!
