Today is Thursday.
This is the day of the week for a new Bible verse to learn.
I went to an old devotional book I have on my shelf.
I found this verse to learn this week.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths."
Proverbs 3: 5 and 6 NLT
The short story under this verse tells about a couple helping their friend look at two units at a retirement village. She had a hard time making up her mind about which unit to take, the smaller one available now or the larger one ready in two months time.
After lunch the man and the friend returned to see the places and choose one.
The lady still could not make up her mind.
Then the man said to the lady and to his wife that they would take the small unit and she could have the larger one.
Stunned, the wife wondered what made her husband decide that as they had talked about staying in their home for years to come.
Her closing paragraph says this " We have never regretted moving into the retirement village, and have been richly blessed spiritually and socially. We praise the Lord continually for directing our path in a way that we did not plan." Joy Dustow
